Mi biedo dinos. This is a script for a video I haven't made yet, but I wanted to share it here cause I thought it was fun.
I’ve been obsessed with dinosaurs and prehistoric life basically since I spawned into this terrible Minecraft seed.
I can’t believe I spawned in the TEXAS biome.
When I was little, I had dozens of dinosaur toys, and I used to line them all up in a really long row throughout the house. I guess I was trying to make a massive herd or something. And for as long as I can remember, I’ve been an avid, or more like an obsessive enjoyer of dino media. Jurassic Park, Disney’s Dinosaur, and When Dinosaurs Roamed America were among my favorites.
So naturally, when I became old enough to use the computer and browse the interwebs and totally didn’t look up naughty things, I gravitated toward dino media on the internet as well... Not naughty dinosaur media though… I’m obsessed but I draw the line at dino dick. (future Zealot here, wtf was I thinking when I wrote this???)
Anyway, I just wanted to shout out my favorite paleo/dino content creators that I’ve discovered over the years. This may come as a shock to you, but I’m not trying to farm drama or negativity in this video. You’re probably used to seeing shit like that on this platform, but I’m not about that life. If it means I sacrifice views for the sake of staying true to myself, then so be it.
I wanted to talk about the dino gaming youtubers first, as those were the sorts of videos I watched before anything else.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been watching BestinSlot. He primarily covers dino media on his channel, not just limited to games, but those are his primary focus. I unironically think I’ve been watching this gigachad for over a decade at this point. My mind is literally collapsing trying to comprehend how much time that is.
But yeah, it’s really awesome to see him still doing his thing and still going strong. This video is about content creators who carry dino youtube, and this video may not have even been made if BestinSlot wasn’t on this platform. He’s one of my favorite creators of all time, and been a huge inspiration for myself in my own content endeavors.
He’s a natural at this shit. His commentary is engaging, he’s pretty witty and funny, he’s partially responsible for my nonsensical sense of humor, and he’s british. No seriously, idk what it is about british people but they crack me the hell up. I saw a video the other day of a british guy doing a literal version of Bad Apple and for some reason just the way he was singing was enough to put me in stitches.
Before I move on, I wanted to show my appreciation for something that BestinSlot does in his Jurassic World Evolution 2 mod of the week videos. Btw shoutout to the absolute gigachads on the nexusmods website for creating an amazing modding scene for this game. Their passion for the game and paleontology in general is infectious, and I had the pleasure of having PrimalWheat show up in my Twitch chat once, that was a great time.
So, every time BIS shows off new modded creatures created by a talented modder, he actually gives real life facts about the animals. I didn’t fully appreciate this at first, but it hit me one day how unique and awesome of an idea that is. I don’t know anyone else that does anything like this even outside of JWE2. I have a lot of respect to BestinSlot for doing this. He doesn’t HAVE to do it, but he has a huge passion for paleontology and he loves sharing the facts about that field. So seriously huge props to him for that.
Speaking of Jurassic World Evolution 2, another creator who is carrying this game on her shoulders is Evolution Square. While I haven’t been watching her for nearly as long as british sloth man, I’ve been into her content ever since her channel came about during the days of the first Jurassic World Evolution. I think back then her channel was called crazy path lady. Her channel is primarily focused on this game, but she covers all sorts of other dino media as well.
Another creator I have a lot of respect for for their infectious authenticity and passion for dinosaurs.
I can’t tell you how many times I watched one of her videos and got inspired to open the game and go build a park of my own. There’s a slew of other dino gaming youtubers, so I’ll quick fire mention the ones I can think of in my tiny brain.
Swrve is another one I’ve been watching for a very long time, Rudi Rennkamel has a great attitude and very relaxing videos and cool park builds, Kaiodenic, while more focus on modding than Youtubing, has very natural commentary and a relaxing voice. I know there are more out there, but apparently that’s everyone I’m currently subscribed to, oops.
But now I wanted to give my love to those who make more educational content. Without these guys, I wouldn’t know nearly as much paleontological knowledge as I do.
I wanted to mention Trey the Explainer, because he’s the one I remember watching the longest. He’s made a huge impact on the platform with his content, and I learned a lot from his early videos.
Moth Light Media’s videos have absolutely immaculate vibes. Extremely bingeable videos, and I wish he had more videos for me to watch. I would be completely content if I all I did for eternity was watch his videos.
Ben G. Thomas is a team of creators who consistently put out bangers of educational content, and I gained an immense amount of my paleontological and scientific knowledge from this channel.
Henry the Paleoguy, Chimerasuchus, Animal Origins (who is hilarious), The Budget Museum, and I know there are way more out there, but for some reason those are the only ones my dumbass thought to subscribe to.
There are a lot of amazing educational creators for paleontology, and they’ve all brought me a lot of comfort with their videos, in the lowest points of my life, especially the last couple of years.
So yeah, I just woke up one day thinking about all these creators, and just wanted to show my appreciation and gratitude in the form of a video. If I missed anyone, feel free to share their channels in the comments! Let’s make the comments section a place to discuss our favorite dino youtubers.
As for me, I’m not really defined by making dino content, I don’t really have a clear focus on my channel, but that’s what makes me who I am. I just like to share my various passions in whatever ways I can manage and I’m trying to keep the You in YouTube, know what I mean?
I wanted to end by saying that if you wanna make content, fucking go for it. I think folks underestimate what cool and unique ideas they can bring to this platform with their own passions. This goes for any artform, not just YT. There is something inside of you you’re not showing to the world and it’ll be a much greater place if you express it.
Like, literally just start off talking about your favorite things, don’t worry about perfection in the videos and just share your interests, you can even go unscripted if you want, just cut out the long pauses and "uh"s and you’ve got a banger video. Chances are, the things you’re passionate about are barely being talked about on YouTube, and you may just be the one to pioneer that niche and might get a following just from that. I’ve seen it countless times.
But always remember to stay true to yourself and create for the sake of creating, we need more authenticity not just on this platform but in this world. Remember who you are at your core, trust yourself and share that with the world. Life isn’t being lived if you’re not being you.
Thanks for watching.
And for the readers of this post, thanks for reading.
