I've been editing my Critique Circle profile a bit, and I came up with a plot synopsis for Hidden Fangs: Return to Childhood. It's pretty lengthy, and I hope one day I can find a way to make a much shorter one, but this is my favorite one so far and I feel like it describes the events pretty well.
The story follows Claya, Vola and Graham Clacky.
Claya is a young village girl living in a frostbitten valley surrounded by a forest isolated from the rest of the world, of which she has no solid image of.
The villagers are kept in this place, called Brabantia, by people they call the 'lords.' The lords use the villagers as their play things in traumatic experiments called 'parole.'
When a strange new 'Middleman' arrives to the village, he shocks Claya and the others with how kind he is, and promises to them that 'things are going to change.'
Vola is a member of the village council. She wonders if this new Middleman has come to save the village, and tries to convince her friends of the possibility that this might finally be their chance to fight back against the lords. That, or this man has only come to make things worse.
Graham Clacky is a deadly member of the para-military group called Salvation. Graham takes deep pleasure in slaughtering the cultists who are responsible for countless deaths of adults, and child kidnappings. To add to his hatred, these cults torture the children for the sake of a god they call 'Control,' and were spurred on to these beliefs by the Human-Netherbreed War, some three-hundred years ago. Graham, along with his commander Kamilah McLealand and her strike team, are assigned a new undercover mission in Russia, where their friend Roger Crainsfield has been preparing the village Brabantia for their arrival, so they can take down the cult experimenting on the villagers, and liberate the tormented people.
